Big Boss Vette is booked and busy. She released her debut album ‘Resilience’ last month, performed at Lollapalooza and was featured on Metro Boomin’s ‘Spiderman: Across the Spider Verse' soundtrack. The St. Louis rapper rose to fame last year with viral hits like ‘Pretty Girls Walk’ and ‘Snatched.’
‘Resilience’ is an ode to Big Boss Vette’s perseverance and courage. She started her rap journey in 2014 posting free-style rap covers. After experiencing a series of personal tragedies, she decided to get her music career back on track. Now she is a rising star on her way to the top.
We caught up with Big Boss Vette about her music and here’s what she had to day:
YN: What message do you want listeners to take away from ‘Resilience’?
BBV: Once you hit rock bottom there’s no lower level you can go to, it’s only up from there. Even if you see me a little sad, even if I stumble or you catch me with my head down, just know, once I snap back, I’m going to be a bad b*tch again. I might cry ten times but on that eleventh it’s going to get better. Never think that you’re going to be in the same place as you were six months ago because things can change in the blink of an eye. Stay focused. Stay humble. Stay nice. And stay breezy.
YN: Where do you see yourself in the next year?
BBV: To be honest, I just see myself just being you know. I see myself going on my own tour or maybe getting a big role in a movie or a show. Or becoming a real fashion-girly. You just never know this aspect.
