Rolling Loud, one of the world’s top hip-hop festivals or as Billboard calls it, “the be-all of hip-hop festivals” will be taking place again this upcoming December in Vice City, Miami. Featuring headliners such as Future, Travis Scott, and Playboi Carti, Rolling Loud Miami will be celebrating its 10th Year Anniversary at the Hard Rock Stadium.
And what better way to commemorate Rolling Loud’s ten year anniversary than to highlight up and coming artists who are bringing the vibes this year. Here are five artists whose set you don’t want to miss:
Ken Carson
Rapper and record producer Ken Carson always brings the heat to his performances with high energy and hard-hitting lyrics. Carson started his career in the underground rap scene and by releasing music on SoundCloud. He rose to popularity from collaborations with artists such as Playboi Carti, and the release of his debut album X. Blending the sounds of hip-hop, rage trap and techno , Carson is recognized for his seamless flow, mix and rhythm of the genres. Songs that showcase Carson’s ability are fan favorites like “Yale,”“Jennifer’s Body” and “ss.” With performances that are known to be “deliriously fun” and “beautifully chaotic” he is one performer you want to catch this festival, and maybe even join the mosh pit for.
Reyna Roberts
Making waves as a rising black artist in the country music industry, Miss Reyna Roberts, the princess of outlaw country, made her splash on the country music scene after Carrie Underwood retweeted her cover of “Drinking Alone.” Roberts blends Country music with trap, rock, pop, and blues. Roberts might be a familiar face for any America’s Got Talent (AGT) fans, as she auditioned for season 19 with her song “Raised Right”. Despite receiving a no from one the judges, Roberts didn’t let it deter her. Months later she became one of four black female country artists featured on Beyonce’s song “Blackbird,” a rendition of the The Beatles song. Roberts’s following grows as she continues to perform, and release music like her most recent album, “The Lost Files”. Catch her making history as one of the first female country artists to perform at Rolling Loud.
Shaboozey
One of the first male country artists to perform at Rolling Loud, Shaboozey, is no stranger to making history. His sound gained recognition after his collaboration with Duckwrth on the song “Start a Riot” for the Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse soundtrack. Flashforward to this year, Shaboozey released his song “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” which reached number one on the billboard Top 100, and topped the Hot Country Songs Charts. Shaboozey’s ability to synthesize genres like hip-hop, country, rock and americana into a melodic catchy sound add to his unique charm. His music is known to draw from his Nigerian heritage and eclectic musical influences such as the Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, and Led Zeppelin. He’s breaking the barriers of music and lighting up stages with his contagious joy and passion.
Lay Bankz
A key player in the next-gen hip hop scene, and our certified baddie, Lay Bankz has been making strides since the release of her debut album “After 7” — From collaborating with Blac Chyna on their recent release “Fabulous”, to the playoff anthem for the WNBA song “Pretty girls cry too” with Saweetie and Flo Milli. With songs like “Tell Ur Girlfriend” and “Na Na Na”, Bankz’ music is infectious and leaves the crowd jamming alongside her. Leaning into the philly 2000s club R&B, Bankz brings upbeat energy and catchy melodies with her rhythmic dance moves on stage that will have you grooving.
Cash Cobain
Hailing from the Bronx, NY and known for his signature sound and contributions to the drill music subgenre, Cash Cobain is a rapper and record producer known for his melodic and playful take on drill music. Cobain’s career took off with the release of the album “2 SLIZZY 2 SEXY” with Chow Lee. Since then, Cobain’s experience has led him to working with mainstream artists such as Drake, Lil Yachty, Ice Spice, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Nav, and more. His musical influence comes from Jersey club, rap and contemporary R&B, and it is evident with his use of summer textures, and hitting punch drums. His smooth and appealing rhythm is perceptible in popular singles like “ATTITUDE” ft. Charlie Wilson and Don Toliver and “rump punch”. His passion and production style is apparent in his performances which put a sexy spin on the genre.
